1-Outline four of the Council’s reasons for rejecting Equality’s invention.

3-Equality states that “We are doomed” but he does not feel doomed. How does Equality really feel once he is in the Uncharted Forest?

  1. 2. The real reason why the council does not want the light bulb is because it messes with their plans. If they allowed equality to give them the light bulb they would be allowing him to think. If they allowed him to think others would soon follow along with them and it would let them think they were better than others

    3. When equality reaches the unchartered forest he starts to grieve. He mostly grieves for Liberty because he will never see her again. He grieves about nothing else in his life because he does not care for his past life.

  2. 1) One reason is that he defied the council by doing the something different than other men. The second reason is he was a street sweeper. The third reason is the scholar say his invention will wreck the world. The last reason is that it would bring ruin to the Department of Candles.
    2) He feels free, but feels he is going to die. Equality thinks the glass box is the only thing giving him strength. The last thing is he thinks he won`t see the Golden One again. That is what I think he feels.

  4. 1. They did not want the world to change, they thought it was perfect the way it was. They thought that he was thinking that he did this all by himself. They also thought that this would eliminate the candle industry. They didn't want all the hard work to be replaced by a electrical light.
    2. They did not want to go into the "Unmentionable Times" again.

  5. 1) One reason was that Equality made it on his own. Second reason was that not all of Equality's brother's that it would help them. Other reason was that he was just a street sweeper and not one of the scholar.

    2) the Council rejection Equality's gift was because maybe the council didn't think to make what Equality a street sweeper made. The Council might of feared Equality gift because it was something from the Unspoken time.

  6. One reason why the council rejected his idea was that he invented it by himself without the help of anyone else.

He feels joy, sadness, and freedom. Equality thinks the glass box is his one source of strength that he has left.

  9. 2. The Council already knew about the light bulb. if they would of wanted it they would of kept it. But the Council doesn't want it because they think the city will go back to old times.

    3. Equality said he was doomed be he really wasn't. It was just a new thing for him, he was free.

  10. 1.He defied the council by doing something other than what they are suppose to. The scholar said the invention of the light bulb would destroy the candle.

    2. He feels different than usual. He doesn't feel right. Equality thinks the glass figure is the only thing giving him strength.

  11. 2. he is denied by the council because he is a street sweeper and the council thought that know one would ever try to come in there and try to get there approval of an invention. Another thing is he is breaking so many rules because he is putting his mind to build thing's.

    3. Once equality is in the uncharted forest he feels free of people telling him what to do, and free of punishments. Equality is also sad because he left behind liberty 5-3000.

  13. 1) The reason for the council rejecting what Equality made was because they were a street sweeper and not in the house of scholars. Since they were not in the house of scholars they thought that they should not be making objects.

    2) The reasons behind the Council's rejection and fear was because that they didn't come up with that idea their self. But they also had the fear that if they accept this that other people in the city will also start to rebel against the rules that the council has made.

  14. 1. One of the reasons is because Equality was a street sweeper. The second reason is that if they were to accept his invention it would ruin the Department of Candles. The next reason is that they think the light bulb is useless and should be destroyed. The last reason is because they were offended that someone thought that they were smarter than them.

    2. I think the Council rejected the gift because they were afraid of what could happen if they accepted it.
